March News 2008

Overseas Volunteers/Imports
Hi!
I'm Christine, i'm 20 years old and i'm from Germany.
I have finished Highschool in June and decided to take
few months to serve God in Incedo Northland before I
start studying. The last months flew by and now most of
my time here is over :(.
I really appreciate this time with all its challenges.
One big challenge was to get out of the plane, founding myself in the
middle of Spring Breakaway Camp. My flight came in the same morning
on which the camp started and I met them in Auckland to go down to
Taupo. But it was good to already get to know some Rock Solid Kids
and people I am now working with.
I really enjoyed all the Events of the last few months ie Ontheroad
Camp, Surge, Expressions, Fuse, etc.
I am so excited to see what God is doing here in Northland.
Please pray for our work here.
God bless Christine

and strong! Banish fear and doubt! For remember,
he lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Summer Harvest Promo's
At the beginning of Term Four Scottie and Christine visited
Highschools doing Summer Harvest Promos. We also went
over Dargaille covering Ruawai and Dargaville highschools.
Scotties looking for help in 2008 promoting summer harvest

Project Serve USA 2007
We had a team of 13 people come over from USA to serve
us out at the Summer Harvest Camp site. During the winter
of 2007. Picture this no flash accommodation just roughing
it in a small building our admin area. And cooking and
hanging out in the kitchen. The site got hit by very heavy
rain and strong winds. Which brought down 3 x big
Macaraper trees. So the team was very useful in clearin
the roads from branches etc. We had the added bonus of
creating a very large bon fire which was great on the very
cold frosty August nights. We were really impressed with th
teams attitudes to serving and the work in hand. What we
achieved in 2 weeks was amazing. Clearing trees, roofing
& wall lining 4 showers blocks, painting all buildings, clearig
gorse, and a massive spring clean of all equipment. As a
reward for the team we took them sight seeing around some
of our favourite spots up around Northland and to Rotorua.

Harvest Work Camps
We did a lot of work camps this year out at Kauri Mountain.
I think Zac the farm owner might have thought we were moving
in. Any way a very fruitfull year for getting projects underway
and up to date. A big thanks to all the volunteers who came and
cut wood, hit, nails, cut, iron, painted, organised hot showers for
campers, those who donated money and products to make
Summer Harvest Possible for this year.

Spring Breakaway Camp (Oct 2007)
1st October we left Whangarei at 6am to head down to Taupo for
Spring Breakaway camp We all had an amazing time and the young
people grew in there understanding of the truth in the Gospel.
As well as having loads of fun and meeting new friends.

AAA - Rainbows end
In November we took 3 vans down to rock Solids Rainbows
Rampage at Rainbows End. We joined in with 965 other
screaming Rock Solid young people all taking over the Park.
We heard an awesome message at end and Karl rapped his
testimony. We all had such an awesome time cant wait till the
next one.

YouthZone Ball
YouthZone Ball was held on 27th October 2007.
We had an Egyptian theme this year. Many young people
dressed up and really enjoyed the night. We all rocked to
the DJ sounds of Thomas Weston and danced away to
"Black Peppa" Thanks Paul for your Help. Lana & .....
cooked up an amazing feed which left no one hungry.
Thanks to Mal & his team from the Korean YFC Auckland
team that helped on the night. James from GJ Productions
had the best sound & Lighting available in Northland.
Everyone who came and helped on the night the the
whole 2007 Ball "go OFF"
Everyone had a great time at the ball.

Here are some comments
from young people

Fiji Safari Camp Dec 2007
In December a team of us from Incedo went on a Project Serve trip to go help on a Summer Youth Camp run by YFC right we
did do some Youth work Fiji. Who said Fiji is hot. It wasn't for us this time round it rained and rained. And to top it off we had an
exciting experience when a cyclone Damien was coming straight for the town where the camp was ran. We managed to survive
and it did an amazing last minute dog leg and just shaved the top of our Island. I tell you we prayed really hard that night. If
you want a laugh visit our web site and view our before the cyclone interviews. For the one that got away. That's in between
jumping in puddles. Scottie did his usual speaking slots and also put together some video highlights which they all extremely
loved. The trip over to the Island which took 12 hours overnight was very rough we didn't get much sleep. If your keen to join
us we already have 4 of the 8 places taken so email northland@incedo.org.nz and we will get you a info pack on the mission
Trip we take ages 17 year olds up to what ever you like. Remember we will be working with teenagers over there.

Summer Harvest
Lets just talk about the weather for a Second. I can remember back t
1996 when we had amazing blue skies and hot days at camp over New Years
Since then every year wind or rain, cyclones etc. Now as for this Year...Perfect.
That's what it was like this year absolutely FANTASTIC weather.
Summer harvest - sun burning campers since 1983. It ((To Continue))
